RESTAURO E AMPLIAMENTO CONVENTO DI CALVI
L’antico Convento di Calvi (XIII secolo) era, da anni, ridotto ad un cumulo di macerie… semi-distrutto, senza fondamenta, con tetto e serramenti fatiscenti, privo di pavimenti e muri interni, insicuro e inabitabile. I lavori di bonifica e restauro iniziarono nel 2003, non appena Fra Elia e 2 confratelli vi presero dimora. Lavori lunghi e difficili, irti di difficoltà, ma con l’aiuto della Divina Provvidenza non si sono mai fermati. Il chiostro, la parte centrale e l’erboristeria, sono finalmente terminati ed ora si sta procedendo alla costruzione dello stabile dedicato all’accoglienza dei giovani e alla foresteria allo scopo di ospitare i pellegrini che chiedono di fermarsi qualche giorno con noi. Tramite un mutuo ventennale è stato acquistato anche il terreno per la costruzione della CHIESA DEGLI APOSTOLI e se Dio ci darà la forza, siamo certi di portare a termine ciò che Lui ha iniziato.


Restoration and extension of Convent Calvi of Umbria

The restoration works of the Convent of Brother Elia of the Apostles of God were started in the autumn of the year 2003 and are still ongoing now. The central part is almost finished and we will proceed with the building dedicated to the family home and to the guest quarters. Regrettably, the works foreseen for the year 2008 had to be interrupted for lack of funds but, thanks to the Divine Providence, they will recommence soon. It always remains the resolve to purchase the land for the construction of the Church of the Apostles and we are certain if God gives us strength, even this enormous project will come to fruition
